And in his name the gentiles will hope.”

And in and on His name will the Gentiles (the peoples outside of Israel) set their hopes. [Isa. 42:1-4.]

On that day the root of Jesse shall stand as a signal to the peoples; the nations shall inquire of him, and his dwelling shall be glorious.
He will not grow faint or be crushed until he has established justice in the earth, and the coastlands wait for his teaching.
Then they brought to him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and he cured him, so that the one who had been mute could speak and see.
To them God chose to make known how great among the gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
