The sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s maid: Dan and Naphtali.


These are the names of the tribes: Beginning at the northern border, on the Hethlon road, to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enon (which is on the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north), and extending from the east side to the west, Dan, one portion.


But the land shall be apportioned by lot; according to the names of their ancestral tribes they shall inherit.


So Joshua defeated the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland and the slopes and all their kings; he left no one remaining but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.
