that run dark with ice, turbid with melting snow.
Which are blackish by reason of the ice, And wherein the snow is hid:

like those darkened by thawing ice, in which snow is obscured
Those who fear frost, snow will rush over them.
They that fear the hoar frost, the snow shall fall upon them.
Drought and heat snatch away the snow waters; so does Sheol those who have sinned.
“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the hoarfrost of heaven?
My companions are treacherous like a torrent bed, like swollen streams that pass away,
In time of heat they disappear; when it is hot, they vanish from their place.
He sends out his word and melts them; he makes his wind blow, and the waters flow.
