I will say to God, ‘Do not condemn me; let me know why you contend against me.


That person sings to others and says, ‘I sinned and perverted what was right, and it was not paid back to me.


“For has anyone said to God, ‘I have endured punishment; I will not offend any more;


who teaches us more than the animals of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds of the air?’


But who can detect one’s own errors? Clear me from hidden faults.


Keep back your servant also from the insolent; do not let them have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless and innocent of great transgression.


I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.


No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.


I have given heed and listened, but they do not speak honestly; no one repents of wickedness, saying, “What have I done!” All of them turn to their own course like a horse plunging headlong into battle.
