and that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom! For wisdom is many-sided. Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves.


The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke God are secure, who bring their god in their hands.


But you are doing away with the fear of God and hindering meditation before God.


Is not your wickedness great? There is no end to your iniquities.


So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.


Then Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became angry. He was angry at Job because he justified himself rather than God;


He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.


He takes the wise in their own craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.


who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,


Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceit through the mouth. They all speak friendly words to their neighbors but inwardly are planning to lay an ambush.


The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil, for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.


If any think they are religious and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.
