At evening time, sudden terror! Before morning, they are no more. This is the fate of those who despoil us and the lot of those who plunder us.


I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name.


I myself will lift up your skirts over your face, and your shame will be seen.


Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.


The punishment of your iniquity, O daughter Zion, is accomplished; he will keep you in exile no longer; but your iniquity, O daughter Edom, he will punish; he will uncover your sins.


Though they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, from there I will search out and take them; and though they hide from my sight at the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them.


How Esau has been pillaged, his treasures searched out!


Your warriors shall be shattered, O Teman, so that everyone from Mount Esau will be cut off.
