Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet unborn may praise the Lord:
The children of your servants shall live secure; their offspring shall be established in your presence.
I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with wine. Then all flesh shall know that I am the Lord your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
Thus says your Sovereign, the Lord, your God who pleads the cause of his people: See, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering; you shall drink no more from the cup of my wrath.
In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression; indeed, you shall not fear; and from terror; indeed, it shall not come near you.
Israel was holy to the Lord, the first fruits of his harvest. All who ate of it were held guilty; disaster came upon them, says the Lord.
Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured, and all your foes, every one of them, shall go into captivity; those who plunder you shall be plundered, and all who prey on you I will make a prey.
I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for all time, for their own good and the good of their children after them.
Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored; renew our days as of old—
I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God, and I will answer them.
I will signal for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as numerous as they were before.
And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.
