He sent among them swarms of flies that devoured them and frogs that destroyed them.
I said to you, “Let my son go that he may serve me.” But you refused to let him go; now I will kill your firstborn son.’ ”
Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Let my people go, so that they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, so that it may become gnats throughout the whole land of Egypt.’ ”
The Lord of hosts has planned it— to defile the pride of all glory, to shame all the honored of the earth.
And immediately, because he had not given the glory to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.
