Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went through all the land of Egypt.


The days of our life are seventy years or perhaps eighty, if we are strong; even then their span is only toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.


After a long time the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned under their slavery and cried out. Their cry for help rose up to God from their slavery.


The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,


Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.


“When he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his kinfolk, the Israelites.


“Now when forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush.


I have led you forty years in the wilderness. The clothes on your back have not worn out, and the sandals on your feet have not worn out;


he said to them, “I am now one hundred twenty years old. I am no longer able to get about, and the Lord has told me, ‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.’


Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died; his sight was unimpaired, and his vigor had not abated.


Then I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt with what I did in its midst, and afterward I brought you out.
