but you shall worship the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm; you shall bow yourselves to him, and to him you shall sacrifice.


This occurred because the people of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They had worshiped other gods


The prophet Isaiah cried to the Lord, and he brought the shadow back the ten intervals, by which the sun had declined on the dial of Ahaz.


“And you saw the distress of our ancestors in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea.


The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.”


But you lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the Israelites may go into the sea on dry ground.


So Moses cried out to the Lord, “What shall I do for this people? They are almost ready to stone me.”


The Lord said to Joshua, “Stand up! Why have you fallen on your face?
