The rich man had very many flocks and herds,


David then perceived that the Lord had established him king over Israel and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.


Among his wives were seven hundred princesses and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned away his heart.


These are the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelite; the second Daniel, by Abigail the Carmelite;


All these were David’s sons, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar was their sister.


But Abijah strengthened himself. He took fourteen wives and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.


And he must not acquire many wives for himself or else his heart will turn away; also silver and gold he must not acquire in great quantity for himself.


David also married Ahinoam of Jezreel; both of them became his wives.
