“But will God indeed dwell with mortals on earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!


May your eyes be open day and night toward this house, the place where you promised to set your name, and may you heed the prayer that your servant prays toward this place.


Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!


Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You gave me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.


Have regard for your covenant, for the dark places of the land are full of the haunts of violence.
