Elijah took the child, brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; then Elijah said, “See, your son is alive.”
As a man was being buried, a marauding band was seen and the man was thrown into the grave of Elisha; as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he came to life and stood on his feet.
Then he came forward and touched the bier, and the bearers stopped. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, rise!”
Meanwhile they had taken the boy away alive and were not a little comforted.
For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
See now that I, even I, am he; there is no god besides me. I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; and no one can deliver from my hand.
Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, refusing to accept release, in order to obtain a better resurrection.
But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered the two witnesses, and they stood on their feet, and those who saw them were terrified.
The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
