By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother, but when you break loose, you shall break his yoke from your neck.”
David won a name for himself. When he returned, he killed eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
He put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.
Then the Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the royal house in Edom.
