She said to him, “My lord, you swore to your servant by the Lord your God, saying, ‘Your son Solomon shall succeed me as king, and he shall sit on my throne.’
There let the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan anoint him king over Israel; then blow the trumpet and say, ‘Long live King Solomon!’
Benaiah son of Jehoiada answered the king, “Amen! May the Lord, the God of my lord the king, so ordain.
So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was firmly established.
He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine and that all Israel expected me to reign; however, the kingdom has turned about and become my brother’s, for it was his from the Lord.
When David was old and full of days, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord, succeeding his father David as king; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.
