Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.


Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.


But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.


Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.


And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.


And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phin´ehas; in one day they shall die both of them.


In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.


And she named the child Ich´abod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father-in-law and her husband.
