At that time Abi´jah the son of Jerobo´am fell sick.


And Jerobo´am's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahi´jah. But Ahi´jah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.


So the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with ashes upon his face.


And the king of Israel said unto Jehosh´aphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
