Now all this came to pass that the thing spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying,

From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go off to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised the third day.
But all this has happened so that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled."Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.
For He was teaching His disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise on the third day."
For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that has been written.
For I say to you that this which has been written must still be accomplished in Me-the [saying,] 'And He was numbered with the transgressors.' For the things concerning Me have a fulfillment."
Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day."
Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men."
And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
You search the Scriptures, because you think [that] in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about Me.
For if you believed Moses, you would have believed Me; for he wrote about Me.
that God has fulfilled this promise for us to their children, when He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You.'
Watch therefore, lest there come upon you that which was spoken of in the prophets:
Because You will not abandon my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
But those things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.
"This is that Moses who said to the sons of Israel, 'The LORD our God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers.
For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the image itself of the things, can never with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually every year, make those approaching perfect.
And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of the things which would be spoken,
For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
the Holy Spirit signifying this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing,
searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ in them was revealing when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories which were to follow.
And I fell before his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See [that you do] not! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
