"Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.


And you will be hated by all [people ]for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.


"But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.


Do not carry a money bag, nor a knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.


But a hired hand, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.


Remember the word which I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.


They will excommunicate you; but a time is coming when everyone who kills you will think that he is offering God a service.


For I know this, that savage wolves will come in after my departure, not sparing the flock.


For I will show him all the things that he must suffer for My name's sake."
