And not only that, but we also rejoice in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces endurance;
For to you it has been granted for the sake of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
But even if I am being poured upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice; [yea,] and I rejoice with you all.
I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for His body, which is the church,
For you sympathized with me in my chains, and you received the plunder of your possessions with joy, knowing that you have for yourselves a better and enduring possession in heaven.
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him.
So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
Indeed we count those blessed who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you saw the end of the Lord-that He is compassionate and He is merciful.
[then] the Lord knows [how] to deliver the godly out of temptation and [how] to keep the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast [some] of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
