Elijah found twelve stones. There was one stone for each of the twelve family groups. These twelve family groups were named for the twelve sons of Jacob. Jacob was the man that the Lord had called Israel.

That man then went to the land where the Hittite people lived and built a city. He named the city Luz. And that city is still called Luz today.
David made this an order and rule for Israel. This rule continues even today.
