9 Whilst they see vain things in thy regard, and they divine lies: to bring thee upon the necks of the wicked that are wounded, whose appointed day is come in the time of iniquity.


Now the word of the Lord came to Jonas the son of Amathi, saying:


5 Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good?


8 But Jesus knowing their wickedness, said: Why do you tempt me, ye hypocrites?


6 And they sent to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying: Master, we know that thou art a true speaker, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou dost not regard the person of men.

A long time therefore they abode there, dealing confidently in the Lord, who gave testimony to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
