And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father. For I tell you that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
2 And when the daughter of the same Herodias had come in, and had danced, and pleased Herod, and them that were at table with him, the king said to the damsel: Ask of me what thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
3 And he swore to her: Whatsoever thou shalt ask I will give thee, though it be the half of my kingdom.
6 For he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him the Son of man shall be ashamed, when he shall come in his majesty, and that of his Father, and of the holy angels.
8 And it came to pass about eight days after these words, that he took Peter, and James, and John, and went up into a mountain to pray.
9 The next day, John saw Jesus coming to him, and he saith: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who taketh away the sin of the world.
3 And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptize with water, said to me: He upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining upon him, he it is that baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
5 He said therefore to them: If he be a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.
