Abraham made haste into the tent to Sera, and said to her: Make haste, temper together three measures of flour, and make cakes upon the hearth.


He took also butter and milk, and the calf which he had boiled, and set before them: but he stood by them under the tree.


He pressed them very much to turn in unto him: and when they were come in to his house, he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread and they ate:


2 Can horses run upon the rocks, or can any one plough with buffles? for you have turned judgment into bitterness, and the fruit of justice into wormwood.


But you have departed out of the way, and have caused many to stumble at the law: you have made void the covenant of Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.


2 And he saith to him: Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? But he was silent.


1 But he said to him: Son, thou art always with me, and all I have is thine.


And the steward said within himself: What shall I do, because my lord taketh away from me the stewardship? To dig I am not able; to beg I am ashamed.


But he said: An hundred barrels of oil. And he said to him: Take thy bill and sit down quickly, and write fifty.


But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him, and they said to him: Let this man return, and abide in his place, which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest he be an adversary to us, when we shall begin to fight: for how can he otherwise appease his master, but with our heads?
