“Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
“What I am leaving with you is shalom — I am giving you my shalom. I don’t give the way the world gives. Don’t let yourselves be upset or frightened.
Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving.
Then God’s shalom, passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua.
A psalm of David: Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing.
He has me lie down in grassy pastures, he leads me by quiet water,
he restores my inner person. He guides me in right paths for the sake of his own name.
“A person whose desire rests on you you preserve in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
To the ends of the earth he makes wars cease — he breaks the bow, snaps the spear, burns the shields in the fire.
You who live in the shelter of ‘Elyon, who spend your nights in the shadow of Shaddai,
who say to Adonai, “My refuge! My fortress! My God, in whom I trust!” —
What he said sounded smoother than butter, but his heart was at war. His words seemed more soothing than oil, but in fact they were sharp swords.
So there remains a Shabbat-keeping for God’s people.
For the one who has entered God’s rest has also rested from his own works, as God did from his.
“Therefore, I tell you, don’t worry about your life — what you will eat or drink; or about your body — what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds flying about! They neither plant nor harvest, nor do they gather food into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they are?
Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to his life?
“I have said these things to you so that, united with me, you may have shalom. In the world, you have tsuris. But be brave! I have conquered the world!”

My soul waits in silence for God alone; my salvation comes from him.
Having one’s mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one’s mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
but those who hope in Adonai will renew their strength, they will soar aloft as with eagles’ wings; when they are running they won’t grow weary, when they are walking they won’t get tired.
Now may the Lord of shalom himself give you shalom always in all ways. The Lord be with all of you.
The effect of righteousness will be peace; the result of righteousness, quiet trust forever.
May God, the source of hope, fill you completely with joy and shalom as you continue trusting, so that by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh you may overflow with hope.
Be still before Adonai; wait patiently till he comes. Don’t be upset by those whose way succeeds because of their wicked plans.
By David: Adonai is my light and salvation; whom do I need to fear? Adonai is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be distressed, for I am your God. I give you strength, I give you help, I support you with my victorious right hand.
For this is what Adonai Elohim, the Holy One of Isra’el, says: “Returning and resting is what will save you; calmness and confidence will make you strong — but you want none of this!
With my voice I call out to Adonai, and he answers me from his holy hill. (Selah)
I lie down and sleep, then wake up again, because Adonai sustains me.
I am as satisfied as with rich food; my mouth praises you with joy on my lips
when I remember you on my bed and meditate on you in the night watches.
I always set Adonai before me; with him at my right hand, I can never be moved;
so my heart is glad, my glory rejoices, and my body too rests in safety;
Keep your lives free from the love of money; and be satisfied with what you have; for God himself has said, “I will never fail you or abandon you.”

So, since we have come to be considered righteous by God because of our trust, let us continue to have shalom with God through our Lord, Yeshua the Messiah.

but those who pay attention to me will live securely, untroubled by fear of misfortune.”
Keep doing what you have learned and received from me, what you have heard and seen me doing; then the God who gives shalom will be with you.

My help comes from Adonai, the maker of heaven and earth.
When you pass through water, I will be with you; when you pass through rivers, they will not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you will not be scorched — the flame will not burn you.

“Just as my Father has loved me, I too have loved you; so stay in my love.

in order to extend the dominion and perpetuate the peace of the throne and kingdom of David, to secure it and sustain it through justice and righteousness henceforth and forever. The zeal of Adonai-Tzva’ot will accomplish this.
Furthermore, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with his purpose;
My people will live in a peaceful place, in secure neighborhoods and tranquil dwellings.
Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but for those advising peace there is joy.
How happy the man whom you correct, Yah, whom you teach from your Torah,
giving him respite from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked!
for God is not a God of unruliness but of shalom. As in all the congregations of God’s people,
Keep pursuing shalom with everyone and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Put your hope in Adonai, be strong, and let your heart take courage! Yes, put your hope in Adonai!
For the mountains may leave and the hills be removed, but my grace will never leave you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says Adonai, who has compassion on you.
Trust in Adonai with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him; then he will level your paths.
There is no fear in love. On the contrary, love that has achieved its goal gets rid of fear, because fear has to do with punishment; the person who keeps fearing has not been brought to maturity in regard to love.
My adversaries’ taunts make me feel as if my bones were crushed, as they ask me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’ ”
And now, brothers, shalom! Put yourselves in order, pay attention to my advice, be of one mind, live in shalom — and the God of love and shalom will be with you.
Therefore, let us confidently approach the throne from which God gives grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.

I waited patiently for Adonai, till he turned toward me and heard my cry.
Say to the fainthearted, “Be strong and unafraid! Here is your God; he will come with vengeance; with God’s retribution he will come and save you.”
But Adonai — it is he who will go ahead of you. He will be with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you, so don’t be afraid or downhearted.”
Like someone comforted by his mother, I will comfort you; in Yerushalayim you will be comforted.”
he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his truth is a shield and protection.
You will not fear the terrors of night or the arrow that flies by day,
May the God of shalom make you completely holy — may your entire spirit, soul and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
The one calling you is faithful, and he will do it.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming,
neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.
In all their troubles he was troubled; then the Angel of His Presence saved them; in his love and pity he redeemed them. He had lifted them up and carried them throughout the days of old.
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to bring you back again into fear; on the contrary, you received the Spirit, who makes us sons and by whose power we cry out, “Abba!” (that is, “Dear Father!”).
Yeshua spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light which gives life.”
Yerushalayim! Mountains all around it! Thus Adonai is around his people henceforth and forever.
For he himself is our shalom — he has made us both one and has broken down the m’chitzah which divided us
Haven’t you known, haven’t you heard that the everlasting God, Adonai, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not grow tired or weary? His understanding cannot be fathomed.
He invigorates the exhausted, he gives strength to the powerless.
And I am sure of this: that the One who began a good work among you will keep it growing until it is completed on the Day of the Messiah Yeshua.
Be aware that Adonai is God; it is he who made us; and we are his, his people, the flock in his pasture.
Just as a father has compassion on his children, Adonai has compassion on those who fear him.
For he understands how we are made, he remembers that we are dust.
This is the confidence we have in his presence: if we ask anything that accords with his will, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — then we know that we have what we have asked from him.
A psalm of David, when he was in the desert of Y’hudah:
O God, you are my God; I will seek you eagerly. My heart thirsts for you, my body longs for you in a land parched and exhausted, where no water can be found.
I used to contemplate you in the sanctuary, seeing your power and glory;
for your grace is better than life. My lips will worship you.
and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.”
Adonai directs a person’s steps, and he delights in his way.
He may stumble, but he won’t fall headlong, for Adonai holds him by the hand.
“I, yes I, am the one who comforts you! Why are you afraid of a man, who must die; of a human being, who will wither like grass?
From my being hemmed in I called on Yah; he answered and gave me more room.
With Adonai on my side, I fear nothing — what can human beings do to me?
Praised be God, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, compassionate Father, God of all encouragement and comfort;
who encourages us in all our trials, so that we can encourage others in whatever trials they may be undergoing with the encouragement we ourselves have received from God.
For you have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in distress, shelter from the storm, shade from the heat — for the blast from the ruthless was like a storm that could destroy a wall.
For God gave us a Spirit who produces not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline.
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, shalom and joy in the Ruach HaKodesh.
Like a thick cloud, I wipe away your offenses; like a cloud, your sins. Come back to me, for I have redeemed you.”
We have this hope as a sure and safe anchor for ourselves, a hope that goes right on through to what is inside the parokhet,
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, your judgments are like the great deep. You save man and beast, Adonai.
How precious, God, is your grace! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings,
And how can people proclaim him unless God sends them? — as the Tanakh puts it, “How beautiful are the feet of those announcing good news about good things!”
through our God’s most tender mercy, which causes the Sunrise to visit us from Heaven,
to shine on those in darkness, living in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the paths of peace.”
Stay alert, stand firm in the faith, behave like a mentsh, grow strong.
Let everything you do be done in love.
Finally, grow powerful in union with the Lord, in union with his mighty strength!
Use all the armor and weaponry that God provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary.
He will judge the world in righteousness; he will judge the peoples fairly.
Adonai is a stronghold for the oppressed, a tower of strength in times of trouble.
But the Lord is worthy of trust; he will make you firm and guard you from the Evil One.
Fearing human beings is a snare; but he who trusts in Adonai will be raised high [above danger].
Yes, you will go out with joy, you will be led forth in peace. As you come, the mountains and hills will burst out into song, and all the trees in the countryside will clap their hands.
I don’t think the sufferings we are going through now are even worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us in the future.
Now to him who by his power working in us is able to do far beyond anything we can ask or imagine,
to him be glory in the Messianic Community and in the Messiah Yeshua from generation to generation forever. Amen.
But now this is what Adonai says, he who created you, Ya‘akov, he who formed you, Isra’el: “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I am calling you by your name; you are mine.
You have made me see much trouble and hardship, but you will revive me again and bring me up from the depths of the earth.
You will increase my honor; turn and comfort me.
And may God, the source of encouragement and patience, give you the same attitude among yourselves as the Messiah Yeshua had,
He will not let your foot slip — your guardian is not asleep.
No, the guardian of Isra’el never slumbers or sleeps.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
humility, self control. Nothing in the Torah stands against such things.
Also, make it your ambition to live quietly, to mind your own business and to earn your living by your own efforts — just as we told you.
It was in this hope that we were saved. But if we see what we hope for, it isn’t hope — after all, who hopes for what he already sees?
But if we continue hoping for something we don’t see, then we still wait eagerly for it, with perseverance.
Adonai opens the eyes of the blind, Adonai lifts up those who are bent over. Adonai loves the righteous.
Grace to you and shalom from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
I thank my God always for you because of God’s love and kindness given to you through the Messiah Yeshua,
Yeshua looked at them and said, “Humanly, this is impossible; but with God everything is possible.”
For Adonai says, “I will spread shalom over her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried in her arm and cuddled in her lap.
Now true religion does bring great riches, but only to those who are content with what they have.
For we have brought nothing into the world; and we can take nothing out of it;
God, declare them guilty! Let them fall through their own intrigues, For their many crimes, throw them down; since they have rebelled against you.
For everything written in the past was written to teach us, so that with the encouragement of the Tanakh we might patiently hold on to our hope.
Aren’t sparrows sold for next to nothing, two for an assarion? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s consent.
As for you, every hair on your head has been counted.
So do not be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows.
Moreover, God has the power to provide you with every gracious gift in abundance, so that always in every way you will have all you need yourselves and be able to provide abundantly for every good cause —
Adonai will always guide you; he will satisfy your needs in the desert, he will renew the strength in your limbs; so that you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails.
Better a day in your courtyards than a thousand [days elsewhere]. Better just standing at the door of my God’s house than living in the tents of the wicked.
