9 For all of them were making us afraid, saying, “Let their hands slacken for the work, and it not be done.” But now, make my hands strong.

“But you, be strong and do not let your hands be feeble, for there is a reward for your work!”


Then they called out with a loud voice in the language of Yehuḏah to the people of Yerushalayim who were on the wall, to frighten them and to trouble them, in order to capture the city.


And all those round about them strengthened their hands with objects of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuables, besides all that was voluntarily offered.


My Elohim, remember Toḇiyah and Sanballat, according to these works of theirs, and the prophetess No‛aḏyah and the rest of the prophets who would have made me afraid.


On the day I called You did answer me, You made me bold with strength in my being.


In the day I am afraid, I trust in You.


O Elohim, awesome from Your set-apart places, The Ěl of Yisra’ĕl is He Who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be Elohim!


In You, O יהוה, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.


He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength.


Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not look around, for I am your Elohim. I shall fortify you, I shall also help you, I shall also uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.’


Then the heads said to the sovereign, “Please, let this man be put to death, because he is weakening the hands of the men of battle who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man does not seek the peace of this people, but the evil.”


and strengthen the arms of the sovereign of Baḇel. And I shall put My sword in his hand. And I shall break Pharaoh’s arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of the slain before him.


“And I shall make them mighty in יהוה, so that they walk up and down in His Name,” declares יהוה.


And He said to me, “My favour is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, then, I shall rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah rests on me.


in order that He might give you, according to the riches of His esteem by power, to be strengthened in the inner man, through His Spirit,


For the rest, my brothers, be strong in the Master and in the mightiness of His strength.


I have strength to do all, through Messiah who empowers me.


So, strengthen the hands which hang down and the weak knees,


And the Elohim of all favour, who called you to His everlasting esteem by Messiah יהושע, after you have suffered a while, Himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.


And Dawiḏ was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the being of all the people was grieved, each for his sons and his daughters. But Dawiḏ strengthened himself in יהוה his Elohim.
