Genesis 48:20 - The Scriptures 2009

20 And he blessed them on that day, saying, “In you Yisra’ĕl shall bless, saying, ‘Elohim make you as Ephrayim and as Menashsheh!’ ” Thus he put Ephrayim before Menashsheh.

These are the names of the men whom Mosheh sent to spy out the land. And Mosheh called Hoshĕa the son of Nun, Yehoshua.


From the tribe of Ephrayim: Hoshĕa, son of Nun.


On the seventh day Elishama, son of Ammihuḏ, leader of the children of Ephrayim:


On the eighth day Gamli’ĕl, son of Peḏahtsur, leader of the children of Menashsheh:


By belief, Ya‛aqoḇ, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Yosĕph, and did reverence on the top of his staff.


And the children of Yosĕph spoke to Yehoshua, saying, “Why have you given us but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing we are a great people whom יהוה has blessed until now?”
