16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths –

And he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the new moon nor the sabbath.” And she said, “It is well!”


and for all the ascending offerings to יהוה on the sabbaths and on the new moons and on the appointed times, by number according to the right-ruling upon them, continually before יהוה;


And the sovereign portioned of his possessions for the ascending offerings, for the morning and evening ascending offerings, and the ascending offerings for the sabbaths and for the new moons and for the appointed times, as it is written in the Torah of יהוה.


and that if the peoples of the land bring wares or any grain to sell on the Sabbath day, we would not buy it from them on the Sabbath, or on a set-apart day, and we would forego the seventh year and the interest of every hand.


for the showbread, and for the continual grain offering, and for the continual ascending offering of the Sabbaths, of the New Moons, for the appointed times, and for the set-apart offerings, and for the sin offerings to make atonement for Yisra’ĕl, and all the work of the House of our Elohim.


And Neḥemyah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Lĕwites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is set-apart to יהוה your Elohim. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept when they heard the words of the Torah.


These I remember, and pour out my being within me. For I used to pass along with the throng; I went with them to the House of Elohim, With the voice of joy and praise, A multitude celebrating a festival!


Blow a shophar in the New Moon, in the covering for the day of our festival.


“Stop bringing futile offerings, incense, it is an abomination to Me. New Moons, Sabbaths, the calling of gatherings – I am unable to bear unrighteousness and assembly.


Then I said, “Ah, Master יהוה! See, I have never defiled myself from my youth till now. I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has unclean meat ever come into my mouth.”


“And on the prince are the ascending offerings, and the grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the festival, the new moons, the sabbaths – in all the appointed times of the house of Yisra’ĕl. He is to prepare the sin offering, and the grain offering, and the ascending offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the house of Yisra’ĕl.”


“It is a Sabbath of rest for you, and you shall afflict your beings – a law forever.


saying, “When does the New Moon pass so that we sell grain, and the Sabbath so that we trade our wheat, to make the ĕphah small and the sheqel large, and to falsify the scales by deceit,


And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and at the beginning of your new moons, you shall blow the trumpets over your ascending offerings and over your slaughterings of peace offerings. And they shall be a remembrance for you before your Elohim. I am יהוה your Elohim.”


“Not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man, but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.


because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purging all the foods?”


but that we write to them to abstain from the defilements of idols, and from whoring, and from what is strangled, and from blood.


But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Messiah.


You closely observe days and months and seasons and years.


If, then, you died with Messiah from the elementary matters of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to dogmas:


Do not be borne about by various and strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be established by favour, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.


only as to foods and drinks, and different washings, and fleshly regulations imposed until a time of setting matters straight.


Brothers, do not speak against one another. He that speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against Torah and judges Torah. And if you judge Torah, you are not a doer of Torah but a judge.


So Yehonathan said to him, “Tomorrow is the new moon, and you shall be missed, because your seat shall be empty.


And Dawiḏ said to Yehonathan, “See, tomorrow is the new moon, and I ought to sit with the sovereign to eat. But let me go, and I shall hide in the field until the third day at evening.
