And it came to be, when the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl read the letter, that he tore his garments and said, “Am I Elohim, to kill and keep alive, that this man sends a man to me to recover him of his leprosy? For consider now, and see how he is seeking an occasion with me!”


Yet the sovereign and all his servants who heard all these words were not afraid, nor did they tear their garments.


And Yehoshua son of Nun, and Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their garments,


Then the high priest tore his garments, saying, “He has blasphemed! Why do we need any more witnesses? See, now you have heard His blasphemy!


And tearing his garments, the high priest said, “What further need do we have of witnesses?


And the crowd of the city was divided, and some sided with the Yehuḏim, and some with the emissaries.


Am I not an emissary? Am I not free? Have I not seen יהושע Messiah our Master? Are you not my work in the Master?
