2 Chronicles 18:31 - The Scriptures 2009

31 And it came to be, when the commanders of the chariots saw Yehoshaphat, that they said, “It is the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl!” So they turned around to fight against him, and Yehoshaphat cried out, and יהוה helped him, and Elohim moved them to turn away from him.

And they were helped against them, and the Haḡrites were given into their hand, and all who were with them. For they cried out to Elohim in the battle, and He answered their prayer, because they put their trust in Him.


And Yehuḏah turned and saw the battle was both in front and behind them. Then they cried out to יהוה, and the priests sounded the trumpets.


And the men of Yehuḏah gave a shout. And it came to be, as the men of Yehuḏah shouted, that Elohim smote Yaroḇ‛am and all Yisra’ĕl before Aḇiyah and Yehuḏah.

And it came to be, when the commanders of the chariots saw that it was not the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, that they turned back from pursuing him.


And Elohim helped him against the Philistines, and against the Araḇians who lived in Gur Ba‛al, and the Me‛unites.


And in the first year of Koresh sovereign of Persia, that the word of יהוה by the mouth of Yirmeyah might be accomplished, יהוה stirred up the spirit of Koresh sovereign of Persia, to proclaim throughout all his reign, and also in writing, saying,


Blessed be יהוה Elohim of our fathers, who has put this in the sovereign’s heart, to embellish the House of יהוה which is in Yerushalayim,


“O יהוה, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your Name. And let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him compassion in the presence of this man.” For I was cupbearer to the sovereign.


Pushing, the enemy pushed me to fall, But יהוה helped me.


Ḥet The messenger of יהוה encamps all around those who fear Him, And rescues them.


Elohim is our refuge and strength, A help in distress, soon found.


יהוה of hosts is with us; The Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ is our refuge. Selah.


In Elohim, whose Word I praise, In יהוה, whose Word I praise,


If יהוה had not been my help, My being would soon have settled in silence.


And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Yisra’ĕl lifted their eyes and saw the Mitsrites coming up after them. And they were greatly afraid, so the children of Yisra’ĕl cried out to יהוה.


When a man’s ways please יהוה, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.


The sovereign’s heart is as channels of water In the hand of יהוה; He turns it wherever He wishes.
