And her gates shall lament and mourn, and she, deserted, shall sit on the ground.


“And you shall say in your heart, ‘Who has brought forth these for me, since I am bereaved and barren, an exile, and wandering to and fro? And who reared them? See, I was left alone – from where did these come?’ ”


Who among you is fearing יהוה, obeying the voice of His Servant, that has walked in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the Name of יהוה and lean upon his Elohim!


“Sing, O barren one, you who did not bear! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who have not been in labour! For the children of the deserted one are more than the children of the married woman,” said יהוה.


“From above He has sent fire into my bones, And it overpowered them; He has spread a net for my feet and turned me back; He has laid me waste and faint all the day.


And He spoke a parable to them, that they should always pray and not lose heart,


“And shall Elohim not do right by all means to His own chosen ones who are crying out day and night to Him, and being patient over them?


and she was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not leave the Set-apart Place, but served Elohim with fastings and prayers night and day.


to which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving Elohim night and day, expect to attain. Concerning this expectation, O Sovereign Agrippa, I am accused by the Yehuḏim.


And in those days, when the taught ones were increasing, there arose a grumbling against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were overlooked in the daily serving.


And having risen up, Kĕpha went with them. And when he arrived, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood beside him weeping, showing the inner garments and outer garments which Dorkas had made while she was with them.

and that is, to be encouraged together among you, each by the other’s belief – both yours and mine.

And I wish you to be without concern. He who is unmarried is concerned about the matters of the Master – how to please the Master.


There is a difference between a wife and a maiden. The unmarried woman is concerned about the matters of the Master, that she might be set-apart both in body and in spirit. But she who is married is concerned about the matters of the world – how to please her husband.


praying at all times, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the set-apart ones;


Do not worry at all, but in every matter, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim.


First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all men,


If any believing man or woman has widows, let such assist them, and do not let the assembly be burdened, in order to assist those who are truly widows.


Respect widows who are truly widows.


I thank Elohim, whom I serve with a clear conscience, as my forefathers did, as I unceasingly remember you in my prayers night and day,


For in this way, in former times, the set-apart women who trusted in Elohim also adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands,


“יהוה repay your work, and your reward is complete from יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge.”
