7 And it came to be, when Ḥiram heard the words of Shelomoh, that he rejoiced greatly and said, “Blessed be יהוה this day, for He has given Dawiḏ a wise son over this great people!”

And he lifted his eyes and saw the women and children, and said, “Who are these with you?” And he said, “The children with whom Elohim has favoured your servant.”


“And the sovereign also said thus, ‘Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, who has given one to sit on my throne this day, while my eyes see it!’ ”


“Blessed be יהוה your Elohim, who delighted in you, to put you on the throne of Yisra’ĕl! Because יהוה has loved Yisra’ĕl forever, therefore He made you sovereign, to do right-ruling and righteousness.”


“Shall You then give to Your servant an understanding heart to rule Your people, to discern between good and evil? For who is able to rule this great people of Yours?”


And Shelomoh had twelve governors over all Yisra’ĕl, who provided food for the sovereign and his household – each one made provision for one new moon of the year –


“And now, command that they cut down cedars for me from Leḇanon. And let my servants be with your servants, and let me pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who knows to cut timber like the Tsiḏonians.”


And Ḥiram sent to Shelomoh, saying, “I have heard that which you sent me. Let me do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs.


Let my tongue cleave to my palate, If I do not remember you, If I do not exalt Yerushalayim Above my chief joy.


Proverbs of Shelomoh: A wise son makes a father rejoice, But a foolish son is his mother’s sorrow.


A wise son accepts his father’s discipline, But a scoffer shall not listen to rebuke.


A wise son makes a father glad, But a foolish man despises his mother.


The father of the righteous greatly rejoices, And he who brings forth a wise one delights in him.


Look, I and the children whom יהוה has given me – for signs and wonders in Yisra’ĕl from יהוה of hosts, who dwells in Mount Tsiyon.


For a Child is born unto us, a Son is given unto us, and the rule is on His shoulder. And His Name is called Wonder, Counsellor, Strong Ěl, Father of Continuity, Prince of Peace.
