1 Corinthians 9:16 - Revised Standard Version

16 For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!

I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish:


In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.


For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.


For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.


If others share this rightful claim upon you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.


In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.


When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, a door was opened for me in the Lord;


And say to Archippus, “See that you fulfil the ministry which you have received in the Lord.”


Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you; and I will instruct you in the good and the right way.
