He who gathers in summer is a wise son, He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.


There is one who scatters, yet increases more. And one who withholds more than is right, But it comes to poverty.


The hand of the hard worker rules, But the lazy is put to compulsory labour.


The lazy one has no game to roast, But the hard worker prizes his possessions.


The being of the lazy one craves, but has not; While the being of the hard workers are enriched.


Also, he who is slack in his work Is a brother of a master destroyer.


Laziness makes one fall into a deep sleep, And an idle being suffers hunger.


A lazy one buries his hand in a dish, And does not bring it back to his mouth.


Do not love sleep, lest you become poor; Open your eyes, be satisfied with bread.


The lazy one does not plough after the autumn; At harvest time he inquires – there is none!


The plans of the hard worker lead only to plenty, But all rash haste only to poverty.


Because of laziness the framework tumbles, and through idleness of hands the house leaks.


Do not labour for the food that is perishing, but for the food that is remaining to everlasting life, which the Son of Aḏam shall give you, for the Father, Elohim, has set His seal on Him.”


Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Master, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Master.
