For the four chief gatekeepers were in an office of trust. They were Lĕwites, and they were over the rooms and treasuries of the House of Elohim.
In that hour יהושע said to the crowds, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to arrest Me? Daily I sat with you, teaching in the Set-apart Place, and you did not seize Me.
And the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not right to put them into the treasury, seeing they are the price of blood.”
And sitting opposite the treasury He saw how the people put copper into the treasury. And many rich ones put in much.
And calling near His taught ones He said to them, “Truly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those putting into the treasury,
And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him in the same hour, but they feared the people, for they knew that He had spoken this parable against them.
And looking up He saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury,
Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, but He went forth out of their hand,
יהושע said to her, “Woman, what is that to Me and to you? My hour has not yet come.”
And about the middle of the festival יהושע went up into the Set-apart Place, and He was teaching.
So they were seeking to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
“You go up to this festival. I am not yet going up to this festival, for My time has not yet been filled.”
And at dawn He came again into the Set-apart Place, and all the people were coming to Him. And having sat down, He was teaching them.
Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but יהושע was hidden and went out of the Set-apart Place, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
