“Even the deer gave birth in the field, but left because there was no grass.

Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh her young, because there is no grass.

Even the doe in the field abandons her newborn, for there’s no grass.

For even the doe has given birth in the field, and then left it behind. For there was no grass.

Yea, the hind also brought forth in the field, and left it, because there was no grass.

“Naphtali is a deer let loose, he gives words of elegance.

The voice of יהוה makes the deer give birth, And strips the forests bare; And in His Hĕḵal everyone says, “Esteem!”

For the waters of Nimrim are wastes, for the green grass has withered away; the grass fails, there is no greenness.

How the beasts moan! The herds of cattle are restless, because they have no pasture. The flocks of sheep also perish.
