And the sovereign of Ashshur exiled Yisra’ĕl to Ashshur, and placed them in Ḥalaḥ and Ḥaḇor, the River of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
“And now, I urge you, please give a pledge to my master the sovereign of Ashshur, and I give you two thousand horses, if you are able on your part to put riders on them!
And יהוה said to Yeshayahu, “Go out now to meet Aḥaz, you and She’ar-Yashuḇ your son, at the end of the channel of the upper pool, on the highway of the Launderer’s Field,
while the sovereign of Baḇel’s army was fighting against Yerushalayim and all the cities of Yehuḏah that were left, against Laḵish and Azĕqah. For only these walled cities remained of the cities of Yehuḏah.
O inhabitant of Laḵish, harness the chariot to the horse – she was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Tsiyon – for the transgressions of Yisra’ĕl were found in you.
For her wounds are incurable. For it has come to Yehuḏah, it has come to the gate of My people, to Yerushalayim.
