And Yitsḥaq brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent. And he took Riḇqah and she became his wife, and he loved her. Thus Yitsḥaq was comforted after his mother’s death.


And Laḇan said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”


So Ya‛aqoḇ served seven years for Raḥĕl, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.


And he also went in to Raḥĕl, and he also loved Raḥĕl more than Lĕ’ah. And he served with Laḇan still another seven years.


Give my wives and my children for whom I have served you, and let me go, for you yourself know my service which I have done for you.


“These twenty years I have been in your house. I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock, and you have changed my wages ten times.


Ask of me a bride price and gift ever so high, and I give according to what you say to me, but give me the girl for a wife.


Dawiḏ then sent messengers to Ishbosheth son of Sha’ul, saying, “Give me my wife Miḵal, to whom I became engaged for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”


And when Ya‛aqoḇ fled to the country of Aram, Yisra’ĕl served for a wife, and for a wife he kept watch.


So I bought her for myself for fifteen pieces of silver, and one and one-half ḥomers of barley.
