And Sarai, Aḇram’s wife, took Haḡar her female servant, the Mitsrian, and gave her to her husband Aḇram to be his wife, after Aḇram had dwelt ten years in the land of Kena‛an.


And Sarai said to Aḇram, “My wrong be upon you! I gave my female servant into your bosom. And when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes. Let יהוה judge between you and me.”


And the first-born said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man on the earth to come in to us, as is the way of all the earth.


And Sarah saw the son of Haḡar the Mitsrian, whom she had borne to Aḇraham, mocking.
