And the messenger of יהוה commanded Gaḏ to say to Dawiḏ that Dawiḏ should go up to raise a slaughter-place to יהוה on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Yeḇusite.


Dawiḏ then said, “This is the House of יהוה Elohim, and this is the slaughter-place of ascending offering for Yisra’ĕl.”


And Shelomoh began to build the House of יהוה at Yerushalayim on Mount Moriyah, where He appeared to his father Dawiḏ, at the place that Dawiḏ had prepared on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Yeḇusite.

“For we were slaves, but in our bondage our Elohim did not forsake us, and extended loving-commitment to us in the presence of the sovereigns of Persia, to revive us, to raise up the House of our Elohim, to restore its ruins, and to give us a wall in Yehuḏah and Yerushalayim.


Your people volunteer in the day of Your might, In the splendours of set-apartness! From the womb, from the morning, You have the dew of Your youth!


“Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they take up a contribution for Me. From everyone whose heart moves him you shall take up My contribution.


And everyone whose heart lifted him up and everyone whose spirit moved him came, and they brought the contribution to יהוה for the work of the Tent of Appointment, and for all its service, and for the set-apart garments.


The children of Yisra’ĕl brought a voluntary offering to יהוה, all the men and women whose hearts moved them to bring all kinds of work which יהוה, by the hand of Mosheh, had commanded to be done.


And they received from Mosheh all the contribution which the children of Yisra’ĕl had brought for the work of the service of making the set-apart place. But they still brought to him voluntary offerings every morning,


For if the readiness is present, it is well received according to what one has, not according to what he does not have –


Because I bear witness that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave voluntarily,


Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not of grief or of necessity, for Elohim loves a joyous giver.
