And it came to be, as he was in the gate of Binyamin, a master of the guard was there whose name was Yiriyah son of Shelemyah, son of Ḥananyah. And he seized Yirmeyahu the prophet, saying, “You are deserting to the Kasdim!”


Then the heads said to the sovereign, “Please, let this man be put to death, because he is weakening the hands of the men of battle who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man does not seek the peace of this people, but the evil.”


Then Amatsyah the priest of Bĕyth Ěl sent to Yaroḇ‛am sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Yisra’ĕl. The land is not able to endure all his words,


“It is enough for the taught one to become like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Be‛elzebul, how much more those of his household!


and came and dwelt in a city called Natsareth – thus to fill what was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called Natsarene.”


saying, “Ha! What have we to do with You, יהושע of Natsareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are: the Set-apart One of Elohim!”


(who had been thrown into prison for a certain uprising made in the city, and for murder).


and began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this one perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Messiah, a Sovereign.”


And he released the one they asked for, who for uprising and murder had been thrown into prison, but he handed יהושע over to their wishes.


But they were insisting, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching through all Yehuḏah, beginning from Galil unto this place.”


And some of the believers who belonged to the sect of the Pharisees, rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the Torah of Mosheh.”


crying out, “Men of Yisra’ĕl, help! This is the man who is teaching all men everywhere against the people, and the Torah, and this place. And besides, he also brought Greeks into the Set-apart Place and has profaned this Set-apart Place.”


And they were listening to him until this word, and then they lifted up their voice, saying, “Away with such a one from the earth, for it is not fit that he should live!”


“And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,


“But in order not to hinder you any further, I beg you to hear us briefly in your gentleness.


And when he had come, the Yehuḏim who had come down from Yerushalayim stood about, bringing many and heavy charges against Sha’ul, which they were unable to prove,


since they have known me from the first, if they wish to witness, that I lived as a Pharisee according to the strictest sect of our observance.


And we think it right to hear from you what you think, for indeed, concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere.


But the high priest rose up, and all those with him, which is the sect of the Sadducees, and they were filled with jealousy,


And they set up false witnesses who said, “This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this set-apart place and the Torah,


For there have to be factions even among you, so that the approved ones might be revealed among you.


being insulted, we help. We have been made as the filth of the world – dirt wiped off by all until now.


For this is favour, if because of conscience toward Elohim anyone bears up under grief, suffering unrighteously.
