Confuse, O יהוה, divide their tongues, For I saw violence and strife in the city.
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword,
And the crowd of the city was divided, and some sided with the Yehuḏim, and some with the emissaries.
Now Sha’ul, perceiving that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, cried out in the council, “Men, brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee, I am being judged concerning the expectation and resurrection of the dead!”
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor messenger nor spirit, but the Pharisees confess both.
