And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations round about us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem; for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.


And Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had befallen him. Then his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of the Jewish people, you will not prevail against him but will surely fall before him.”


So the Jews smote all their enemies with the sword, slaughtering, and destroying them, and did as they pleased to those who hated them.


Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they prosper who love you!


Let them be appalled because of their shame who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”


May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt.


When the Lord has finished all his work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem he will punish the arrogant boasting of the king of Assyria and his haughty pride.


As when a hungry man dreams he is eating and awakes with his hunger not satisfied, or as when a thirsty man dreams he is drinking and awakes faint, with his thirst not quenched, so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion.


this is the word that the Lord has spoken concerning him: “ ‘She despises you, she scorns you— the virgin daughter of Zion; she wags her head behind you— the daughter of Jerusalem.


For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.”


Now many nations are assembled against you, saying, “Let her be profaned, and let our eyes gaze upon Zion.”


On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it shall grievously hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will come together against it.


“On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a blazing pot in the midst of wood, like a flaming torch among sheaves; and they shall devour to the right and to the left all the peoples round about, while Jerusalem shall still be inhabited in its place, in Jerusalem.


If any one has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!
