For many bore false witness against him, and their witness did not agree.


But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me;


But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.


And with this the words of the prophets agree, as it is written,


it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God,


he has put his seal upon us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.


So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.


For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,


Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,


If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has borne witness to his Son.
