They said, ‘Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt! ’ Jacob was stunned,  for he did not believe them.


Then Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upstairs room into the house, and gave him to his mother.  Elijah said, ‘Look, your son is alive.’


Then he said, ‘Pick it up.’ So he reached out and took it.


The dying blessed me, and I made the widow’s heart rejoice.


So he went to her, took her by the hand, and raised her up.  The fever  left her,  and she began to serve  them.


Just as he neared the gate of the town, a dead man was being carried out. He was his mother’s only son, and she was a widow.  A large crowd from the town was also with her.


The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.


They brought the boy home alive and were greatly comforted.


Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.


In those days, as the disciples  were increasing in number, there arose a complaint by the Hellenistic Jews against the Hebraic Jews that their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution.


‘Lord,’ Ananias answered, ‘I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem.


As Peter was travelling from place to place, he also came down to the saints  who lived in Lydda.


Support  widows  who are genuinely in need.


The widow who is truly in need and left all alone has put her hope in God  and continues night and day in her petitions and prayers;
