Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath but also because of your conscience.


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace towards me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.


Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony  of our conscience  is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially towards you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom  but by God’s grace.


We want you to know, brothers and sisters, about the grace of God that was given to the churches  of Macedonia:


and that is why I suffer  these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me  , until that day.


Otherwise, wouldn’t they have stopped being offered, since the worshippers, purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?


For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer,  if you endure it, this brings favour with God.


Let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler.
