Whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.


But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.


Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy.


for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.


You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death.


“Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter,


but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”—


For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,


And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
