Why does God create people when He knows they are going to go to hell?

Please understand that God does not cause anyone to go to hell. Instead, individuals choose to go there by their own volition. The progression of those who reject Christ can be observed in the initial three chapters of the book of Romans. The wrath of God is revealed against the unrighteous because people reject the Creator and worship the creation (Romans 1:18-20). People claim to be wise in their own estimation «Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, », (Romans 1:22) and trade the glory of God for created things (Romans 1:23-25). Subsequently, they descend into a spiral of sin as outlined in Romans 1:28–31, sins that we all can identify with. Not only do they engage in these sins, but they also endorse those who practice them «who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.», (Romans 1:32). Humans not only witness God’s power through the creation of the world but also have their consciences accusing them of their wrongdoing (Romans 2:14-15). Ultimately, individuals are without excuse. We merit death for our sins and stand condemned before God.

Jesus Christ came in the flesh so that “you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” «but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.», (John 20:31). This serves as another testimony to God’s existence and also serves to condemn those who opt to reject Christ as the Son of God. Since Christ came to pay the price of sin and to reveal the Father «No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. », (John 1:18), individuals have no justification for rejecting Him. People choose to reject Christ and end up in hell, not because God forces them there. God has paid the price, made Himself known to all, and now humans are “without excuse” «For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: », (Romans 1:20). God allows people to be born to provide them with the chance to believe, but it is each person’s responsibility to make that decision. What kind of God would He be if He didn’t offer people the opportunity to have faith in the Lord?

This remains a challenging concept to comprehend. We can only hold on to what we understand about God’s nature and character, trust that His sovereignty and mercy are not in conflict, and believe that everything He does or permits will ultimately bring glory to Him.
