What is the wrath of man in James 1:20?

Response

In James 1:20, the apostle states, “For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God” (NKJV). The term for links verse 19 and verse 20. In verse 19, James counsels believers to “be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger” (ESV). There are three practical lessons to be learned from verse 19:

1. Believers should heed the “message of truth,” which is the gospel of Christ «Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. », (James 1:18).

2. Believers should refrain from impulsive speech cf: Proverbs 10:19. In essence, we should consider before we speak, ensuring that our words are “always full of grace, seasoned with salt” «Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. », (Colossians 4:6).

3. Believers should avoid self-centered and hot-tempered anger, as it “does not achieve the righteousness of God” (James 1:20;NKJV;cf: Ephesians 4:26).
