What does it mean that He will give his angels charge over you (Psalm 91:11)?

Angels are celestial beings who serve God. One of the responsibilities given to angels is to carry out God’s supreme protection over humans. During times of crisis, the psalmist received assurance:

For He [Yahweh] shall command His angels concerning you,

To guard you in all your ways.

They will lift you up in their hands,

So that you will not strike your foot against a stone

(Psalm 91:11-12;NKJV).
